It was interesting being on Free Hearts. I certainly found it different from home, even though it was the same kind of woodsy area. Open planes and such. Funny to think that I was only going to be here for a year, "But I think we'll manage, right Emrys?" I asked my horse now, who merely glanced over at me from the cross ties, standing there paitently. I laughed at the look he gave me, if he were human, I'd swear he would be rolling his eyes at me right now. He was being paitent enough with me as it was though as I pulled out a curry comb and began to work on his coat now. Emrys's ears twiched and he soon let out a shrill whinny, greeting somebody but I continued on working.

I walked down the barn to go to my brothers horse lucians stall , Jayden needed me to give him his dinner. I didn't really mind though . A horse that wasn't lucian greeted me, i looked over to meet the eyes of a boy . " um hi ?" i said to the guy , what else could you say ?

I heard the barn doors open, but I just assumed it was the stable hands or something. After all, they came in time to time to make sure that the horses were okay. As the footsteps moved closer now, Emyrs let out another whinny, his ears pointed forward. I simply just continued to move the currycomb in circular motions before the foot steps stopped and I heard a voice from behind, there was a slight accent hinted to it. Glancing over to my shoulder now, I saw a girl standing there. I couldn't really tell if she was confused by my presence or not though, "Oh, hey," I said, offering a smile, "Sorry, are we blocking you?"

I blushed slightly " oh no sorry , i just didn't know anyone else was in here." i said tossing the hay in my arms into lucians stall in a single move .

I noticed how her cheeks turned red just the tiniest bit. Was she blushing? I couldn't quite understand as to why though. Although, I didn't dare ask her about it. Some how, I felt like it might be wrong of me to ask such a thing of a girl. I watched as she tossed hay into another horse's stall, "Ah, is that your horse? He's been keeping Emyrs good company since they're neighbors."

" well he might as well be, i spend more time with him then my brother does these days ." i laughed slightly at the truth in that , then added ' this is lucian ." i said petting his head as he put his ears forward intently

I was still grooming my horse now as I smiled at her, "Ah, did he get himself a girlfriend or something?" I asked, "That's what always happened with my friends. I felt bad for their horses, seemed like they were forgotten in the heat of the romance," I glanced over towards the horse, Lucien, "Well, hear that Emyrs, we know his name now," I told my horse who let out a gleeful whinny. Laughter escaped me before I glanced back over at the girl, "I'm Quentin by the way. I didn't catch your name."

" Casey , but i go by Jett , its my middle name ..." i said and just let that sink in a second then added " and yeah her names coraline ." i told him as lucian looked at his horse emrys happily . I got Lucians halter and took him out of the stall and put him in the crossties next to him " do you mind if i groom him here ?" i asked

"Pleasure to meet you, Jett," I replied now with a smile. I nodded my head slightly now as she mentioned her brother's girlfriend's name, "Ah, well, if I ever meet her then, I'll know who she is," I said with a smile as I went back to grooming. Laughter escaped me as I noticed Emyrs and Lucien glancing over at one another, "No, I don't mind at all. I'd love to have your company. It's gets boring some times when it's just me and my horse," a snort escaped him, "Uh, no offense Emyrs."

I smiled " glad to hear." i laughed too as i saw how the horses interrated with eachother , and with him , it was funny in a way
