I just stared at my hands now, I honestly couldn't bare to lookat Alec. Although, by the silence that hung in the air, I knew I had startled him and that he probably hadn't been expecting me to say such a thing. I allowed my thumb to slide across the palm of my other hand now, nervous habit I guess, "Yeah...I suppose it is," I murmuered, "Um...wow," I laughed slightly, half heartly, "I'm sorry, I probably just killed your lunch."

" i was done anyways , and i guess you deserve my history then .." i said to her softly wording it just right " My brother left because of our parents , i wish i could say they were the best , they weren't , but a month after i left london , they were......murdered." i said the last word almost in a whisper

I glanced up, "Oh, no, Alec, you don't have to-" but I couldn't even finish telling him that he didn't have to, because he beat me to it. I felt sorry for him as he spoke, it's a terrible feeling to have one's parents taken away when you were young, "I'm sorry...it's terrilbe that you lost them that way...you know...you know it's not your fault, right?"

meeting her gaze i had to look down at my tea " it might be." i whispered , they were murdered , it could have been someone that didn't like me or luke , they didn't have any enemies i knew of

I watched as his gaze dropped down to his tea now. It was funny to be the postion of staring at the other for once, "Alec..." I almost wanted to hold his hand, but I didn't, we had only just met, what, two days ago? I wasn't going to do anything that I might regret, "You can't...keep on thinking like that. If you do, you'll never be able to let go, and I'm sure your parents wouldn't want that from you."

"Alec..." I murmured. I really wasn't sure on what to say, I felt like i was battling myself almost rather than talking to a boy who had lost his parents. For a moment, against my better judgement now, my hands reached across the table and took his on hand into my own, my thumbs running over the palm of his hand gently now, "Just don't destroy yourself over it."

My eyes turned to her hand now embracing mine . I listened to her talking , I wasn't desroying myself , or at least I didnt think so

My hand continued to rest on his for a moment, and my eyes still rested on him. I honestly couldn't tell if he was completely listening to me or not. Sometimes though, it was best to just drop it, and it dawned on me that this might be one of these moments. It was depressing to think that we were broken though. After a moment, I finally retracted my hand from his now and I turned to face ahead now, watching a happy couple talk, "Funny how we can't run away..." I commented sadly.
