I walked up to the round pen, where the stallion was. I wanted him to trust me before I started training him. I hopped over the fence and went to the middle. He instantly shied from me and started running around the pen. I relaxed and he he slowed. I moved my hand slowly to my pocket and pulled out a sugar cube. I slowly set it down near him, and he stopped. I moved back to the middle and he sniffed the sugar cube. Finally, he ate it and eyed me carefully.
"Spud.." I said quietly. He pricked his ears towards me. He took a step towards me. I took a step towards him, and he stood still. Then, he took another step, and we were only a few feet apart. I slowly took out another sugar cube, and tossed it towards him and he gobbled it up gratefully.

Then, he took another step to me. We were almost touching. I was relaxed, but still.

He started sniffing me. Then, he took another small step and he sniffed my hat. Then, he started nibbling it. I laughed quietly and he stopped, looking at me.

I decided to take a chance and I started stroking his neck. I felt him tense, so I stopped. He then spun around and started running around again

I smiled. Then I walked out. That was amazing.

I looked over and saw Carolyn barely doing anything, just feeding him and trying to pet him. I laughed. So not my way of doing things. I clucked at my own horse and saw him start to gallop.

I saw Holly laugh at how I was trying to build a bond with my horse before scaring him to death with commands

I saw her look at me and I smirked.

"You know. You might wanna, like, not scare your horse to death? They just came from the range and maybe wanna trust someone that doesn't scare them" I told her, with a smile. Then I walked away.

"i don't care what you say. I wish I never told you about Ty. Hes a great guy. You barely know him. And guess what? You are selfish!"
