Ropes and Cows

I had Spy saddled western and I had Cody manning the gate with the cow and I was ready. He let it open and I chased it down the long side and had a rope on it in no time at all. "Time?" I asked. "8.4 Not bad." Cody repied "Not good enough. Again." I said and restarted I kept getting low eights. "AJ whoooaa its not bad!" Cody said after the sixth time. "I need sevens." I said and started again but this time the second the gate opened I went right up to the cow and roped it. "Time?" I panted "7.6" Cody whistled. "YEs!" I said excited. "Okay you should cool him out." Cody told me. "Yeah I am. Then I promised I would work Storm around some barrels. Are you still free? HE is tacked in the cross ties." I promised. Cody nodded and ran to get him. I cooled Spy out and turned him out in the closest pasture then jumped on Storm. He was prancing and ready to go. I warmed him up and did some practice rounds before I realized someone else was watching.

I held Tia's reins as I watched AJ warm up on one of the stable's horses. "Hey." I said some-what quietly. Then I mounted Tia.

"Keep him steady don't push him yet." I told AJ as they loped easily around the barrels. "good good" I told her as she finished. "Just don't let him get excited." I said to AJ "Okay cool" She panted. "Hey Carolyn" I said and I tipped my hat. "hi!" AJ smiled

"What horse is that?" I asked, curiously

"This guy is storm. He is Kendall's horse but he was the first horse I gentled when I got here." I said petting him. "Tia looks good" I smiled

I smiled. "That's cool, and thanks. I've been working hard with her for the rodeo."

I smiled. "Are you going for Rodeo queen?" I asked

"I was thinking about it, and I finally decided I would." I told her
