I sipped my frozen hot chocolate and looked out the window. The coldness of the cup made my fingertips numb even if it was the middle of summer. I sighed and sat back in my chair, watching people in the place walk around. I hadn't even unpacked my stuff before I wanted to get away from Free Hearts. As I played with my heart necklace mom and bought me, I focused my attention on a tall, brown haired guy who was filing through the crowd.

I walked into the coffee barn ignoring the stares from people. I was very used to them. I ordered a ice tea and looked around. Only one girl caught my eye. She had green eyes and curly brown hair. I took my ice tea and sat near her.

I bit my lip and hesitantly looked him over. Nice. I felt my cheeks turn red and I hurriedly sipped my drink.

I felt her eyes on me. i smiled and turned around "Hey"

I looked over at him and almost choked on my coffee. "Hey. I'm Katie."

I msiled "Sam."

I smiled back. I anxiously stirred my drink and almost knocked it over. YOU'RE ACTING LIKE AN IDIOT! I screamed at myself as i cleaned up the little spill.

"Are you okay?"

Katie

I sighed. "yeah. I'm fine." I took another deep breath and smiled. "So...Sam...do you play any sports?"

"Yeah mostly basebal but I play everything mostly."
